"Georgian College jewellery student Danielle O'Connor won honorable mention in the Mikimoto Young Designer Award, an international jewelley competition. The first Canadian to achieve this distinction, O'Connor received a prize of US$5,000 for her design, a cultured pearl necklace.A graduate of Georgian's Jewellery and Metals program, O'Connor also recently won a goldsmithing graduate exhibition and an Ontario Craft Council Award for design."
